Introduction to GC Pro™ Glucose-Charter Pro™ (GC Pro™) is a blood glucose recording tool installed on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Approximately 17 million people in the United States, or 6.2 percent of the population, have diabetes. While an estimated 11. 1 million have been diagnosed, unfortunately, 5.9 million are unaware that they have the disease. For the person with diabetes there may be future treatments that will reduce the impact of the disease and possibly even prevent its onset. Currently, however, treatment with the goal of reducing diabetes related organ damage, is the best and only avenue. For those with Diabetes, treatment will largely be dictated by the whether it is Type I or Type 2, your level of existing insulin production, if any, and of course the treatment modality that is indicated and elected by you and your doctor. While it is imperative for you to follow whatever treatment program that is prescribed, the best results will also come to those who are active participants in their own care. The GC Pro™ food information display will make eating decisions much easier and provide you and your doctor with the needed record keeping to maximize the benefits of your ongoing treatment. Password Security Feature. Our Various "Charter" applications such as BP-Charter™now have a privacy password feature built into the code. This feature is available in all our version 4.0 and above applications. GC Pro™also has this feature but it has been enhanced. Here is an outline of how this feature works. Upon initial load of the new version you will be asked to set a password.

(Contents) Carbohydrates. By controlling your consumption of carbohydrates you may alleviate some of the extreme symptoms usually seen when excessive amounts of dietary sugars. A number of users of the "Lite" version of Glucose-Charter were confused by the food database we provided. Expecting all food groups to be included. We concentrated on providing a qualitative database displaying carbohydrate amount, Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load. It is important to your health to understand how these factors affect your body, please consult your medical professional regarding dietary information. Again we have not indicated the serving size but as a general rule any more than 15 grams (approx half an ounce) of carbohydrate in a serving is undesirable. Our indicators show: GREEN <=15g (half oz) ORANGE(1oz) <=30g RED >30g (1oz) Many foods have their dietary information on the packaging. You may enter your own values "Brand" "Product description" Size and Carbohydrate content. Additionally if you have Glycemic Index and/or Glycemic Load values for the food you may enter those. This data may be shared with other users by submitting your values to the server. Once our staff have reviewed the values they may be made available to all users or the data may be combined or revised by us to provide our users with better food values. See Food Database in the Maintenance section. ![]() It is not necessary to participate in this global food database, you may elect to use only your own entered foods and any supplementary foods we may provide with future upgrades of the application. You can remove any or all of these foods from your own database. Please see the Food Database ![]() (Contents) Charts. Both BMI and Blood Glucose Charts appear on the same screen. The Blood Glucose Chart shows 3 lines and points where appropriate. Red = High value. Green = Average value. Blue = Low value. ![]() You may rotate the device to view the charts in "Landscape" mode. ![]() (Contents) BMI. This chart indicates your calculated body-mass index. This international scale is used to determine whether an adult person of average fitness is underweight below 18.5, normal 18.5 to 25, overweight 25 to 30, or Obese above 30. Note: highly muscular athletes show as being overweight when clearly the majority of their body mass is muscle. The desired range for most people is Normal however Overweight is acceptable as well, it will require more discipline when selecting foods and foods with high glycemic loads and diets with high calorie intakes should be avoided. Underweight is also concerning and may indicate other medical problems, we strongly advise consulting professional medical advice if you fall into this category. ![]() (Contents) Maintenance.
